5 SOLDIERS: live in your living room

September 8, 2017

This 5-star, award-winning show from Rosie Kay Dance Company will be broadcast live from an Army base in Central London.

This performance kicks off the start of a six week tour, taking dance into the heart of Army barracks around the country.

Tune in as the stream will go live on Friday 8 September, 7.45pm-9.15pm.

5 Soldiers is a visceral portrayal of the lives and experiences of a female and four young male soldiers as they undergo training and are deployed in the middle of a brutal conflict. It explores issues as diverse as gender, the impact of war and conflict, discipline, dealing with injury, sacrifice, and the rigours of military training.

This live stream has been commissioned by The Space as part of its mission to use digital technology to bring great art to wider audiences.

The 60 minute performance will be followed by a post-show talk featuring choreographer Rosie Kay, Lt Gen James Bashall CBE, Lt Col Sue Wright former SO1 Arts, Sadler’s Wells Artistic Director and Chief Executive Alistair Spalding and Observer dance critic Luke Jennings.
