Creative Black Country’s 100 Masters

Meet the Masters

Creative Black Country’s 100 Masters project sees 100 of the region’s most celebrated contemporary craftspeople being brought together to inspire future talent in the region.

100 Masters is a campaign produced by Creative Black Country in which the public were asked to have their say and nominate someone they know who is brilliant at what they do. The project aims to identify contemporary skilled people from the region and help inspire future talent. See the Masters at 100masters.co.uk.

The Black Country was forged at the hands of men and women from all walks of life who honed their skills to the highest levels. It was through their craftsmanship and diligence that the region became renowned as the industrial heartland of the UK, and while we successfully recognise our great industrial heritage, we believe it is time to represent the present-day masters who have been making tremendous strides.

During 2017 a panel shortlisted the 100 Masters from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley and Sandwell. The list represents an amazing array of people from all backgrounds who have excelled in their field. The Space supported Creative Black Country in building their social media presence via a sustainable content plan including a series of videos.

A master is a noteworthy person who has forged their own path and displayed outstanding ability that has influenced others in their field

All the 100 Masters videos can be found in this YouTube Playlist, for more on 100 Masters see 100masters.co.uk and check for updates on the Facebook and Instagram pages.

In September 2018, 100 Masters won a European Youth Award for Digital Creativity.
