cheeky little brown

Lady (Tiajna Amayo) is a determined, sharp-tongued charmer who loves her best friend Gemma, lamb doner kebabs, and a good night out. However, this musical is about a failed night out, which explores a coming-of-age story that examines a friendship between two Black women on diverging paths of self-love and acceptance.

Cheeky little brown is produced by leading British African heritage contemporary theatre company tiata fahodzi, in association with Bristol Old Vic On Screen. The piece is written by playwright Nkenna Akunna, who also wrote the original songs, and directed by Chinonyerem Odimba.

What started as a touring one-woman show about heartbreak and queerness was available to stream until 2nd November 2024.
