Minny Stynker

Minny Stynker is an immersive experience that uses an augmented reality app to utilise the camera on your phone or tablet to interact with a children’s picture book. What started as a children’s theatre show, that used projection mapping to bring the vibrant illustrations from the book to life, can now be experienced in any environment – including hospitals, hospices and healthcare settings across the South West, where the experience is being distributed for free by Soap Soup Theatre.

A story about the magic of creativity

Moving house to a new city where it always rains, Kit is alone. Making friends is always hard, but here, it feels impossible. The rain beats down on the roof and drips down the window panes, trapping Kit in the quiet stillness of their dingy bedroom. But, one night, when idly scribbling to pass the time, the swirls and whirls on the page giggle into a life on their own, and an unusual adventure unfolds!

You are in control of this adventure, where you can compose soundscapes with a tabletop forest, design an imaginary friend to dance in your living room and have the ability to fly through the cosmos. This is a story about the magic of creativity, how we reach out to each other in the darkness and together, bring the impossible to life.
