Sanctuary in Sandwell

A series of four distinctive short-form, wonderfully lo-fi capture films shedding light on the experiences of refugees and asylum seekers who have settled in Sandwell in the Black Country.

 

The films challenge negative migration narratives by spotlighting unique settlement stories in Sandwell, with the aim of fostering empathy and understanding.

 

Poet Bohdan Piasecki conducts interviews with various residents, capturing personal their narratives in his original poems, inspired by their stories, which span the globe.

 

A partnership project by Black Country Touring , Bearwood Community Hub, Sandwell Borough of Sanctuary.
