Helping funders and partners fall in love with your idea

May 8, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Watch the webinar:

Coinciding with The Space’s 2025 commissioning round, this webinar explores what’s at the heart of any successful pitch or application – describing what you want to make and why. An application to a prospective funder, partner, commissioner or distributor demands that you not only talk about your idea, but really sell your creative vision to those people who can help you to make it a reality.

There’s so much to think about when putting together an application or a pitch. Sometimes the sheer excitement of an idea or a project gets a bit lost along the way, or sometimes the opposite happens and an applicant’s enthusiasm means that the application isn’t clear as it needs to be. But nothing is more persuasive than a fantastic idea, presented in a way that brings it to life. So how do you enthuse potential funders and partners, and get them as excited as you are?

In this webinar we hear from artists who’ve used their storytelling skills in different ways to captivate funders. And we hear how funders and potential collaborators approach the selection process and know when they’re on to something special.

We cover:

How can you communicate your vision?

How do you make your idea standout?

How can presentations, taster tapes and other materials help bring your idea to life?

How do you carry on ‘selling’ your idea as you move into production and the work evolves?
