Rambert’s ‘Peaky Blinders’ wins at Prix Italia

We are thrilled to share that Rambert’s ‘Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby,’ a project supported by The Space, has won the prestigious Prix Italia for TV Performing Arts.

 

Inspired by the renowned television series created by Steven Knight, the production received high praise from the Prix Italia judges:

 

“This outstanding production uniquely blends gripping storytelling with breathtaking choreography, immersing the audience in the complex world of Thomas Shelby and his family. Through innovative dance, the performance captures the emotional depth and moral dilemmas of its characters, while the striking visuals and haunting score enhance the overall experience.This production not only showcases exceptional talent but also redefines traditional storytelling, making it accessible and engaging for a diverse audience.”

It’s been an honour to be a part of the remarkable journey of this exceptional Rambert production featuring choreography and direction by Benoit Swan Pouffer. The project was co-produced and filmed by North South, The Space and Birmingham Hippodrome and broadcast on BBC Four on New Year’s Day, as part of a collaboration with BBC Arts.
