Bringing artists back
The importance of seeing and hearing from artists feels especially critical in these current times.
Fiona Morris, Creative Director and CEO, The Space
Throughout 2025, artists and cultural organisations have inspired us with their creativity, commitment and resilience. Our work during this year has underlined the difference that support from The Space can make – both to help creative people innovate with digital technologies and to support them to platform their work digitally.
This year’s Reflections Report features the voices of The Space’s team who work with artists and organisations every day. Their insights offer a nuanced view of what’s happening across the sector: what’s working, what’s emerging, and what’s needed next.
Our team provide their thoughts on:
- Challenging stereotypes through accessible experiences
- Celebrating creative communities across the Black Country
- The capture revolution
- Finding your audience in a fragmented media landscape
- AI playability vs AI protection
- Tackling online harms
The year in numbers
The Report also includes information on what we’ve achieved including:
- Helping to create more than 22 digital and broadcast projects
- Providing training and support for 647 cultural organisations and 111 freelance individuals
- Publishing 20 online resources
- Receiving 310 applications through open calls
- Hosting 26 webinars and support sessions
