Navigating Digital Change

Navigating Digital Change for Cultural Leaders

Pilot Support Programme

Navigating Digital Change is a free pilot programme to help cultural leaders in England explore what digital transformation means for you and your organisation and to consider practical ways to make it happen.

Programme overview

Funded by Arts Council England and delivered by The Space in partnership with sector experts, this programme will support a cohort of 10 leaders of small to mid-scale cultural organisations. Participants will consider how you and your organisation might benefit from digital transformation in terms of evolving culture, practices and the adoption or adaption of technology. You will explore strategy and business models covering both public-facing digital content and internal operations and processes.

Content and time commitment

The programme will run from May 2025 to February 2026 and includes:

  • Seven online group sessions: induction, five masterclasses and a closing reflection session
  • One all-day, in-person group session in London on 8th October 2025
  • Three online sessions with a digital mentor, matched to your needs

Eligibility

We invited applications from Executive Directors, Creative Directors, Chief Executives or equivalent roles in organisations eligible for funding from Arts Council England.

As this is a pilot programme, we aim to gain diverse perspectives on our approach. We therefore selected leaders from different backgrounds with a range of levels of experience and confidence managing digital activities and who are responsible for leading different types of cultural organisation across England.

The programme began in May 2025.
