Short films show artists supporting grassroots talent

About the films
Episode 1 – Paraorchestra – 4th December, 10.30pm
Conductor Charles Hazlewood created opportunities for disabled musicians from Paraorchestra to become a Musician in Residence for 1 year. The 12-month residencies allowed musicians to develop their artistic practice, with support from Paraorchestra.
Episode 2 – Theatre Royal Stratford East – 5th December, 11.45pm
Nadia Fall, Artistic Director of Stratford East Theatre, created the Sky Arts Artistic Associates Bursary. We meet 2 recipients who were given the opportunity to work with Nadia and her team in this new post to generate ideas, artistic collaborations and contribute to productions.
Episode 3 – Akram Khan Company – 6th December, 11pm
Dance artist Akram Khan supported 2 UK-based dance artists with a 6 month artist development programme. This provided an opportunity for these dancers to investigate stories and themes from their own work before delving into their creative process.
Episode 4 – Royal Society of Literature (RSL) – 7th December, 11.15pm
Writer Bernardine Evaristo worked with the Royal Society of Literature to create the Sky Arts RSL Writers Awards. Open to emerging writers of colour, 3 award winners tell us how the mentoring sessions with leading writers has impacted their work.
