Where to experience Vocalize
Vocalize will appear at the Hay Festival from 22 May 1 1 June.
In this version, users will be able to step into a soundproof booth to hear actor Stephen Fry and his “vocal double” guide you through a voiceover training session.
The actor said Vocalize

About the artists
Francesca Panetta is Director of the AKO Storytelling Institue at UAL and a mulit-award winning digital artist using experimental storytelling to create works with social impact.
Halsey Burgund is a media artist who uses modern technologies – from smartphones to AI- alongside fundamentally human ‘technologies’, primarily language, music and the spoken voice, to explore their aesthetic and societal impacts.
Shehani Fernando is an immersive creator who has directed a number of award-winning VR experiences specalising in documentary.
“We wanted audiences to feel what manipulation truly means”, said Vocalize’s creators. “When the viewer becomes the protagonist, the boundary between truth and fabrication starts to dissolve… As artists, we’re drawn to exploring AI not only to unlock its creative potential, but also to confront the risks and ethical dilemmas it presents.”
